Once again, Awesome Music Entertainment has been awarded the WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Awards™, formerly known as the Bride’s Choice Award.  The Couples Choice Awards recognizes the top five percent of local wedding professionals from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellence in quality, service, responsiveness and professionalism. Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the organization, the WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Awards™ are determined by recent reviews and extensive surveys from over 750,000 WeddingWire newlyweds.

Awards are determined by a combination of four factors: overall rating (quality), total number of reviews (quantity), review performance from 2013, and consistency of reviews from year to year (consistency). These surveys are submitted by the newlyweds directly to WeddingWire, who publishes them exactly as written. No editing whatsoever, you get to read the good, the bad, and the ugly!

In the Houston metropolitan area, there are thousands of mobile DJ companies.  Awesome Music Entertainment is proud to have been rated in the top 100 companies!  Our hard earned reputation for delivering 100% client satisfaction is the cornerstone of our success.

Your wedding day was perfect and you wouldn’t change a thing, right? Wrong! These real brides reveal what they would have done differently if they could have their time again…r-WEDDING-REGRETS-large570

1)    “I should have hired a wedding planner. We had a marquee wedding at home and had to organize every little detail ourselves — not good!” – Rebecca

2)    “I wouldn’t worry so much about my dress getting dirty. We got some pictures taken underneath a blossom tree. They are our favorite photos from the day!” – Helen

3)    “I wouldn’t be so hung up on color schemes. I thought about colors for so long but was worried I would put something hideous together! So in the end I just chose colors I liked and went for bright and bold!” – Shelley

4)    “In terms of budgeting I should have tried not to get so carried away in the couple of weeks before the wedding — it’s so easy too! You’ve done so well so don’t spoil it with last minute expensive impulse buys!” – Lintilla

5)    “I would have listened when the dress designer told me how to attach the train to my dress. We spent 30 stressful minutes trying to work it out!” – Jenni

6)    “If we did it all again I might not have done so much ourselves, as although we had a lot of help, I organized everything pretty much from scratch and it did end up being more stressful for us.” – Sarah

7)    “The only thing we’d change about the wedding was our DJ (Entertainment). The prices do reflect the quality, so if you think you’re getting a really good, cheap deal — there might be a reason for that!” – Esme

8)    “If we could do it all again we’d try harder to take it all in. It’s a magical day, but very surreal and it’s easy to get carried along and lose hours of time in what feels like minutes. I’m not sure it’s possible, but listen to people when they tell you to take a minute to savor it all!” – Sophie

9)    “I’m glad we planned indoor activities. Even though we were lucky with the weather, it was less stressful knowing we had a back-up plan just in case.” – Donna

10) “We didn’t think about a videographer until it was too late. I wish I had someone capturing the speeches!” – Victoria

11) “I should have asked the photographers to stay longer so I had more shots of people dancing at the evening reception.” – Karen

12) “We didn’t assign seating and probably should have because everyone seemed reluctant to meet the other side of the family.” – Jenny

13) “I would definitely remember to have some tissue ready on the top table — those speeches are going to make you cry!” – Hannah

This is a quote that has been floating around the DJ world for a while now. I can’t even say for sure whether she actually wrote it or if some enterprising DJ made it up and attributed the quote to her.

Whether Martha Stewart wrote it or not, the 80% figure is just an opinion. That said, I think it’s a valid one.

A great DJ makes DJing look easy.  They look relaxed and confident.  They make it look like anyone could do it.  Great DJs are great not only because of what they do, but what they don’t do.

Bad stumble through announcements, plug everything into a cheap power strip and wonder why it keeps tripping, entertain by scrambling during frequent computer crashes, treat guests to a non-stop loud buzz or feedback from their speakers, get drunk and/or reek of weed, post pictures of your middle school dance alongside the wet t-shirt contest they DJed at the krunk bar on their facebook page, play low quality tracks with foul language and/or the wrong songs entirely because they stole them from some PTP network, end the night early when some piece of non-backed up equipment fails, etc.

Is a great DJ responsible for 80% of an event’s success? Maybe, maybe not. What they can offer though is an almost sure-fire way to avoid embarrassing situations that become the focus of your special day. Great DJs not only help create great memories, they are an insurance policy against bad ones overshadowing them and becoming the focus of your event.

If you’re looking for an experienced, professional DJ that will help your guests remember your event for all the right reasons, check out Awesome Music Entertainment!
